Creating a healthier future.
Branding | Event
For this project, we were tasked with reimagining an object randomly assigned to us. The options ranged from mobile phones to storage containers, and my group was assigned an MRI scanner.
Using this object, we were to create an imaginary world centred around a sustainable, post-growth society free from fossil fuels. Our task was to design this future world, focusing on community-building, repair, and regeneration.

At the start of the project, we were assigned an object, and our group received the MRI scanner. We began by researching the object, learning about what an MRI actually is, along with its pros and cons.
Given the imaginary nature of the project, we explored unconventional ideas for a world where MRIs and other medical technologies are phased out and repurposed. For example, we considered using them in the food industry to scan vegetables or animals.
Building on our imaginary concept, we developed the idea of using MRIs in submarines to scan fish and monitor water quality, which could be applied in research and ocean-clearing initiatives.
We developed the idea of phasing out MRIs entirely by creating healthier cities, as many conditions diagnosed by MRIs can be prevented through lifestyle and societal changes.
For our final idea, we envisioned a system where MRIs can travel to you instead of you travelling to them. This would enable MRIs to be used 24/7 and assist in natural disaster response.
Our favourite idea, which we developed, was the healthy cities concept, as we, along with many others, believed it had great potential.
During one of our group meetings, we decided to establish core values, a personality, and objectives to guide us in creating our branding. Our key-values were:
For our name generation, we explored different cultures and languages, eventually settling on the Italian word 'Viva'. We then developed variations, such as 'Vivus', but ultimately decided on the name 'Vive'.
Our chosen name, 'Vive', was short, easy to remember, and rich in meaning. It combines the idea of 'revive' with the word 'Viva', which means 'long live!' in Italian.
For our brand, we wanted to create an event to accompany it, called the Fruit Bowl, inspired by the Super Bowl. This event is a sports day-style gathering, held at a location named Slades Farm in Bournemouth. It will feature a variety of activities, sports, and freebies, including local healthy produce, sun cream, and water. The image on the left shows the map and timetable for the event.
